A Letter from the Founder...

We’re glad you found us. Sunrise Wellness is a leading provider of trauma-informed therapy, with specialized expertise in supporting police, fire, and other first responders—along with their families. Our approach is rooted in whole-person care, focusing on each individual’s strengths while integrating tools that support physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. Many of our clinicians have specialized training or firsthand experience within first responder communities, allowing for truly informed and relevant care.

We are deeply committed to helping individuals navigate stress, trauma, and loss, while empowering them to create meaningful, lasting change. Our services also extend to family systems, life transitions, marriage and premarital counseling, and general mental health. Mindfulness and meditation practices are thoughtfully incorporated to enhance resilience and promote overall wellness.

We continue to expand our services for children ages 3–18. Child therapy includes age-appropriate techniques such as play, art, books, and interactive activities, alongside active parent involvement. These approaches are grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and are designed to support healthy development and emotional growth.

Choosing to begin therapy is an important and courageous step. From your first call through every session, we are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and judgment-free environment. We look forward to partnering with you on your journey toward healing and growth at Sunrise Wellness.

I am a passionate and dedicated Manager of Programming at Sunrise Wellness, where I ensure the seamless operation of programs that support first responders and their well-being. With a strong background in program coordination and administrative leadership, I am committed to making a meaningful impact on the lives of those who serve our communities.

My experience in the first responder community runs deep, both professionally and personally. I previously served as the Administrative Assistant for the Ramsey Fire Department, Lead Admin and Fire Chaplain for the Brooklyn Park Fire Department, Intake Coordinator and Peer Support Program Manager for the MnFIRE Initiative, playing a vital role in connecting first responders to critical resources in all roles.

Beyond my professional work, my dedication to first responders continues in my personal life. I am married to a 16-year retired firefighter/Captain, and mother to a retired 5 year female firefighter.  My husband and I volunteered on both MnFIRE and (ACPSPS) Anoka County Public Safety Peer Support Team as Trainers, Peer Supporters, and I as Board Secretary for ACPSPS. I currently serve as a Board Member for PSAB (MN Peer Support Advisory Board) and co-lead the (F.A.S.T.) Fire Administrative Support Team, a networking resource for 60 metro fire department administrators.

Advocating for and supporting first responders is at the core of everything I do. At Sunrise Wellness, I am dedicated to ensuring that those who serve our communities receive the care and resources they deserve. When I’m not working, you’ll find me spending time with my family, my grandbabies, and friends.  My hobbies include playing pickleball, camping, or paddling through the BWCA.
