Marah Smith

Intern

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Ministry from Bethel University and am currently pursuing my Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Bethel Seminary.

I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, trauma, stress, life transitions, and relationship challenges. My clinical approach is grounded in attachment theory and trauma-informed care, and I integrate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), family systems, strengths-based, relational, and psychodynamic approaches. I also bring experience from preschool day treatment and elementary special education, which has shaped my understanding of how to support children, teens, and families in building emotional awareness, coping strategies, and stronger relationships.

I believe people experience meaningful change when they are met with compassion, curiosity, and safety that allows them to explore their stories, emotions, and relationships. I view the therapeutic relationship as a powerful space where this change and healing can occur. I see therapy as a collaborative process, where we work together to uncover strengths, explore challenges, and draw on the resources within you and your community. I strive to offer a creative, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you can deepen self-understanding and move toward greater connection, resilience, and peace.
