We’re excited that you found us at Sunrise Wellness. We are a leading provider of trauma therapy, specializing in working with police, fire, and other first responders, as well as their families. We take an integrated whole-person approach to mental health services, focusing on a person’s strengths and incorporating coping tools that address physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects. Our clinicians have specific training to work with police officers and other first responders or a deep understanding of the unique dynamics of that community, many having served in law enforcement roles.
At Sunrise Wellness, we are passionate about working with people who have experienced high levels of stress, trauma, and loss in their lives. We strive to help our clients believe in their ability to make personal changes. We are also passionate about family systems, life changes, marriage and pre-marital counseling, and general mental health. Our therapists actively incorporate concepts from Mindfulness and Meditation into therapy sessions.
With the addition of the Isanti office, we have extended our services to include serve children ages 3-18. Therapy for children involves conversation, processing, teaching, as well as the use of books, games, art, play, and other activities to help them process and learn based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy strategies.
Choosing to seek therapy services is a significant step, and we ensure a safe and non-judgmental approach from your first phone call through all therapy sessions. We look forward to working with you at Sunrise Wellness.
I am a passionate and dedicated Manager of Programming at Sunrise Wellness, where I ensure the seamless operation of programs that support first responders and their well-being. With a strong background in program coordination and administrative leadership, I am committed to making a meaningful impact on the lives of those who serve our communities.
My experience in the first responder community runs deep, both professionally and personally. I previously served as the Administrative Assistant for the Ramsey Fire Department, Lead Admin and Fire Chaplain for the Brooklyn Park Fire Department, Intake Coordinator and Peer Support Program Manager for the MnFIRE Initiative, playing a vital role in connecting first responders to critical resources in all roles.
Beyond my professional work, my dedication to first responders continues in my personal life. I am married to a 16-year retired firefighter/Captain, and mother to a retired 5 year female firefighter. My husband and I volunteered on both MnFIRE and (ACPSPS) Anoka County Public Safety Peer Support Team as Trainers, Peer Supporters, and I as Board Secretary for ACPSPS. I currently serve as a Board Member for PSAB (MN Peer Support Advisory Board) and co-lead the (F.A.S.T.) Fire Administrative Support Team, a networking resource for 60 metro fire department administrators.
Advocating for and supporting first responders is at the core of everything I do. At Sunrise Wellness, I am dedicated to ensuring that those who serve our communities receive the care and resources they deserve. When I’m not working, you’ll find me spending time with my family, my grandbabies, and friends. My hobbies include playing pickleball, camping, or paddling through the BWCA.
